About Linen

Linen is a fabric unlike any other, produced from the Flax plant it requires very little water to propagate so is incredibly sustainable, it is naturally hypoallergenic, boasts antibacterial properties and when cared for correctly it will become more beautiful with age, making this fabric the ideal choice for both bedding and homewares.

Linen is made from the fibrous material in the stem of the flax plant. From planting the flax seed to weaving the linen fibre is a long, specialist procedure involving many hours of labour and careful precision to create your soft, much loved bed sheets.

Linen is produced from the flax plant which requires a specific climate and rich soil conditions to successfully grow. Once the flax plant matures, the harvesting procedure for the fibre is a timely, skilful technique that requires many stages of retting, scutching, hackling, weaving and dyeing. This procedure is more labour intensive than the production of cotton and therefore the cost is somewhat higher.

Linen has a unique open weave structure that is perfect for bedding as it allows air to flow around you, wicking away any moisture and helping to regulate your temperature. It can help keep you warm in the colder months and cool in the summer, enabling you to have an enjoyable sleep throughout the year.

Linen is measured by its weight per square metre (gsm) and not by a thread count, which is typically used for cotton. Flax threads are much thicker than cotton and therefore a thread count would appear low in comparison to fine strands of cotton.

Our Linen

All our Linen is grown in Europe and our items are then constructed in various locations around the world. We are very lucky to have found some wonderful manufacturers in Europe and China, and some of our items are made here in the UK

A duvet set includes a duvet cover and 2 standard size pillowcases.

A single size duvet set includes a duvet cover and 1 standard size pillowcase.

A bedding bundle includes a duvet cover, 2 standard size pillowcases and a white fitted sheet in the size of your choice.

Our Fitted Sheets are 35cm deep and as they are elasticated all the way around, this ensures a great fit for shallow mattresses too. The extra fabric will be neatly tucked under the bottom of your mattress creating a perfect fit.

Our Pillowcases are sold in pairs.

All our Linen Bedding has been Stonewashed during its production process to prevent shrinkage and create a super soft texture, therefore washing is not necessary before use.

Linen is super easy to care for and individual washing instructions are enclosed with your order, but as a quick guide, your linen can be machine washed at 40°, line dried or tumbled dried on medium, and ironing is completely optional!

Do not tumble dry your Pure Linen Throw, to maintain its beauty dry naturally on a flat surface.

Linen is incredibly environmentally friendly, and our packaging continues our ethics as we only use paper and cardboard which are fully recyclable.
